Project Background
Azerbaijan is actively promoting energy diversification, encouraging industrial and commercial users to develop PV power on idle spaces. The client, a local medium-sized manufacturer, has bothmetal sheet workshop rooftopsandopen landon site. To maximize renewable energy utilization and reduce electricity costs, they decided to develop both rooftop and ground resources.Singfo Solarprovided a turnkey solution covering both installation types, ensuring high efficiency, safety, and grid compliance.
Singfo Solar Solution
Based on the site conditions, we designed a500kW on-grid systemdivided into two sub-arrays:
-Metal Rooftop Section (~250kW):
Adoptedspecialized clamps + non-penetrating fasteningto securely fix the mounting system onto the ridges of the metal sheets without damaging the waterproof layer. Lightweight high-power monocrystalline modules were selected to minimize roof load while ensuring generation efficiency.
-Ground Mount Section (~250kW):
Utilized idle land withconcrete foundations + steel racksat a fixed tilt angle optimized for the local latitude (~40°N) to maximize annual energy yield. The ground array also allows easy cleaning and maintenance.
-Shared Grid Connection Point:
DC power from both sections is converted to AC via inverters, then combined at the AC side and fed into the factory’s main distribution panel via a common grid-tied cabinet — achievingcentralized grid connection and unified monitoring.
-Smart Monitoring:
Deployed a remote intelligent monitoring platform, enabling separate real-time data viewing for the rooftop and ground sections, including generation history and emission reduction benefits, facilitating O&M management.
Environmental & Economic Impact
Commissioned in early March 2025, the system delivers the following benefits:
-Annual Output:Approximately700,000 kWh(based on Azerbaijan’s average effective solar hours of 1,400 h/year).
-Emission Reduction:Saves about230 tonsof standard coal and reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately580 tonsannually, equivalent to planting31,000 trees.
-Economic Benefit:Based on local industrial electricity tariffs, the payback period is estimated at5–6 years, with nearly 20 years of low-cost green power remaining. Utilizing both rooftop and ground space maximizes on-site energy production and overall returns.
-Demonstration Value:This project serves as a replicable model for "rooftop + ground mount" hybrid development for enterprises in Azerbaijan and neighboring regions with mixed available space.
